Resurrection Power

"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.  I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the deal!  Philippians 3:10 

"‘He himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds you have been healed.’"    1 Peter 2:24 

1. THE RESURRECTION ISN’T ABOUT RELIGION, IT’S ABOUT RESTORING A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP 

Religion is man trying to reach up to God; the Resurrection is God reaching down to us. 

"For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!"  Romans 5:10 

"Who then will condemn us?  No one for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Romans 8:34  

2.  IT CHANGES MY OUTLOOK FROM DESPAIR TO LIVING HOPE

"And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.  And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”  Romans 8:11 

He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.  Romans 4:25   

"‘I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm—my great army that I sent among you.’"   Joel 2:25 

3.  LIVING THE RESURRECTION LIFE 

We are "Gathered to be Scattered." This power isn't for us to sit on; it’s for us to use to Radically Impact our community. 

The New Identity: 

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.  The old life is gone; a new life has begun.   2 Corinthians 5:17 

The Living Hope: 

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."   1 Peter 1:3
