Stop Overcomplicating God’s Will

We OVERCOMPLICATE God’s will and UNDERESTIMATE God’s goodness. 

God’s will is more about a “WHO” than a “DO.” 

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34 NLT 

Focus on today not so much on tomorrow! 

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15 NIV 

The best way to find God’s will for your FUTURE is to live FAITHFULLY for Jesus TODAY. 

• God’s Sovereign Will 
• God’s Moral Will 
• God’s Permissive Will 
• God’s Personal Will 

 God’s will is for you to be holy …     1 Thessalonians 4:3 NLT 

hagios: set apart, different, sacred, dedicated to God 

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.     Romans 12:2 NIV 

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. [God] did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.  2 Timothy 1:9 NLT 

What does God want me to do? 

Who does God want me to become?
